Pakistan welcomes China's investment in Pakistani SMEs

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan recently met with more than 100 Chinese corporate investment delegations mainly from Shandong Province in Lahore.
Important officials such as Punjab Governor Chowdhury Savar and Chief Minister Usman attended the meeting. The Chinese delegation expressed its strong desire to invest in various fields in Pakistan and is willing to cooperate with SMEs in Gujranwala, Gujarat and Sialkot.
Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed the Chinese companies' investment in Pakistan and thanked Chinese companies for their willingness to invest in Pakistani SMEs. The Pakistani government is working to simplify the foreign investment registration process and improve the level of business facilitation, with particular attention to the development of SMEs, which have an important impact on the country's employment and poverty alleviation.

According to official statistics, in the past five years, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project has created 70,000 jobs for Pakistan, with per capita income increasing by 23% and annual GDP growth rate increasing from 3.7% to 5.79%. The 17 CPEC projects brought $930 million in tax revenue to Pakistan.
